Letterpress (2025)
Letterpress (2025) comprises a series of handmade clay letterpress blocks that combine the English and Vietnamese alphabets. Unlike traditional letterpress, where blocks are carved in reverse to produce legible text, these are presented in readable form—resulting in any printed outcome appearing reversed. This inversion disrupts the expected relationship between tool and text, creating a subtle sense of disorientation. The work reflects my experience as a second-generation Vietnamese Australian, where language is often negotiated across shifting and imperfect terrains.
