wearing Whiteness II (2022)

Wearing Whiteness II is a collective performance with friends and family who have adopted Western names in different areas of their lives. Each participant wore a customised white Hard Yakka coverall bearing their chosen name as we walked together through Brunswick, Brunswick West, and Coburg—suburbs shaped by ongoing gentrification and historically linked to the origins of the Hard Yakka brand.
