wearing Whiteness (2022)

Wearing Whiteness (2022) is an installation and performance in which I wear a white Hard Yakka coverall emblazoned with my self-assigned Western name, “Bee.” The garment references Australian workwear designed for “harsh conditions,” which I reinterpret as the racialised and exclusionary landscape of Australian society.
